How to apply

All applicants must meet the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse).  Applicants from European countries are eligible for admission upon completion of the secondary school leaving certificate that provides the basis for admission to university studies in the home country.

Entrance requirements for applicants from non-European countries may also include one or two years of university studies in addition to secondary school. More information could be found in NOKUTs GSU list.

Some study programs have special admission requirements in addition to the general requirements. At Narvik University College all B.Sc programs within engineering have special requirements within mathematics and physics.

All our bachelor programs are taught in Norwegian language. All master programs except for one are taught in English. (Integrated Building Technology will be taught in Norwegian)
There is no tuition fee at Narvik University College except a registration fee each semester to be paid on arrival. This semester fee is paid by all students, both Norwegian and foreign.

If you meet all entrance requirement you should apply online through Samordna opptak (Universities and Colleges Admission Service). Find more information here.

However, most foreign students do not fulfil the admission requirement in knowledge of Norwegian language. Narvik University College therefore offers foreign students a two semester course (60 credits) in Norwegian Language and Society. Be aware that you can not apply to study only this language course. This two semester course can only be a preparatory year for either a bachelor or master program.

Students missing only the necessary skills in Norwegian, or are applying for one of our English speaking programs must use the application forms available on our web site. Such applications will be handled directly by Narvik University College.

Documentation:
Applicants must document all their relevant education with officially certified copies of certificates, diplomas, transcripts etc. in the original language and authorized translations if the original documents are not in English or a Scandinavian language. Both upper secondary and higher education must be documented. Applicants must fulfill all requirements before 1. July.
Application dead line is 1st of March.
